Burr Oak Wildlife Area is 40 acres of native prairie and wetlands, this area is known for holding water year round and having nice cover and thick grass thought-out winter. The Burr Oak Creek runs though this area. The wetland helps filter and control flooding along this stretch. The Iowa DNR stocks fingerling trout in the creek upstream from the area, but the public has been known to catch some here from time to time. The Burr Oak Wildlife area is also known to have a good number of Ringneck Pheasants throughout the year, along with diverse waterfowl species.
